Decorating is a fun creative outlet, and honestly, as a mother of 4, it's therapy! This "hobby" of mine began with a couple of classes at a local craft store. I was taught the buttercream basics: borders, flowers, etc. But, I decided to stop there. From that point on, I am self taught. It was my husband that convinced me that I was creative enough to teach myself and learn my own techniques (I still think it was so I didn't spend the $ on more classes). So with my husband's encouragement, I brought home a tub of fondant and experimented....and experimented some more....and today, I'm still experimenting!
After much talk of creating a blog to journal my cakes and share them with those that are interested, I did it! I'm new to this, so bear with me while I figure this whole blogging thing out! As for the name, well, I've found that my decorating interest leans toward fondant. So when it comes to decorating with buttercream, I usually stop at the crumb coat!
